BaseZap uses USDC for all tipping activity because it is a stable, widely-held asset on Base. VVV is a separate, optional token used exclusively for staking through Venice AI. The two tokens serve distinct purposes — you can use BaseZap for tipping without ever touching VVV.

Supported Tokens at a Glance

USDC

Used for: TippingUSDC is the stablecoin powering every tip on BaseZap. It carries no price exposure, always equals $1, and is required to send tips. Recipients receive USDC directly in their wallet — no swaps, no wrapping.

VVV

Used for: Optional staking via Venice AIVVV is a separate token deployed via Clanker. It is not involved in tipping. Staking VVV unlocks access to Venice AI features within the BaseZap ecosystem.Contract: 0x8C1c...3ba3

USDC on Base

USDC is the native stablecoin of the Base ecosystem and the only token accepted for tips on BaseZap. Because it is pegged 1:1 to the US dollar, both senders and recipients always know the exact value of a tip — no volatility, no conversion required. You can acquire USDC on Base through:
  • Coinbase — buy USDC and withdraw directly to Base Mainnet
  • Any Base-compatible wallet or DEX — bridge or swap to USDC on Base
  • Onramp services — many wallets support direct fiat-to-USDC purchases on Base
Make sure you hold USDC on Base Mainnet specifically. USDC on Ethereum mainnet or other chains is not usable for BaseZap tips without first bridging it to Base.

VVV Token

VVV is an optional staking token powered by Venice AI, deployed on Base via Clanker. Its on-chain ticker is $ZAP. Staking VVV is a standalone feature within BaseZap. It operates independently from the tipping flow and does not affect your ability to send or receive USDC tips. Visit basefarcaster.vercel.app/stake for the full approve-and-stake walkthrough.
You do not need VVV to use BaseZap for tipping. VVV staking is a separate, optional feature.
Both tokens are on Base Mainnet only. Make sure you are on the correct network before transacting. Sending tokens on the wrong network may result in permanent loss.
